Oviclodom-NP Tablet A Nimesulide and Paracetamol tablet is a combination medication used to relieve pain and reduce fever. It is composed of two different drugs that work together to increase its effectiveness.
How the combination works
Nimesulide: This is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by blocking certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause pain and inflammation.
Paracetamol (acetaminophen): This is a painkiller and fever reducer. It inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins in the brain to help lower fever and reduce pain.
Compositions
Common uses include:
- Arthritic pain Conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis often cause painful joint inflammation. This combination tablet helps to relieve that pain.
- Dental pain It is effective for pain from a toothache, infection, or extraction.
- Headaches and migraines The tablet can help relieve pain from tension headaches and mild migraines.
- Menstrual pain It is used to reduce pain and discomfort during menstruation (dysmenorrhea).
- Fever – Paracetamol in the tablet works to lower an elevated body temperature.
- Muscle, ear, and throat pain The combination can treat various aches and pains, including those in the muscles, ears, and throat.
